Sama Aluminium Begins Two-Line Expansion of Rolling Machines Dedicated to AL-Foil for LIB

Sama Aluminium supplies cathode current collectors (aluminium foil), a key material for lithium-ion battery (LIB) cathodes, to major battery manufacturers. With the rapid growth of the electric vehicle market, domestic and international battery manufacturers are actively expanding their overseas production facilities to boost capacity. In response to this trend, Sama Aluminium is planning to expand its rolling capacity by adding two new rolling lines at its Poseung plant in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do, to meet the growing demand for LIB aluminium foil. Construction is scheduled to begin on November 22, 2021. The company plans to invest approximately KRW 80 billion in the expansion project, which includes the installation of two rolling mills, two slitting machines, and related construction. The project is expected to take about two years to complete. Once finished, the number of rolling production lines will increase from four to six, significantly boosting overall capacity. Sama Aluminium remains committed to continuous investment in facilities and technological innovation to stay ahead in the evolving battery industry.

2021 Sama Smart Ecological Factory

From June 14, 2021 until December 31, 2021, Sama Aluminium carried out an extensive improvement to the Smart Ecological Factory, with the support of the Ministry of Environment. Sama Aluminium upgraded its facilities in air pollutant reduction, odor reduction, resource circulation, greenhouse gas reduction, energy savings, and green space creation, in the efforts to maintain an Eco-friendly Smart Factory.  

Official launching of Sama’s redesigned website

Sama Aluminium’s newly designed official website has been launched with a new CI and visitors can now conveniently access information on our brand and products.   In particular, this redesign creates a reactive website, which automatically optimizes the screen for any device.   Just like that, you can access Sama’s website anytime, anywhere.   Our website is organized for visitors to directly view our history, main products and development. We have made the visitor experience convenient with the addition of features such as an inquiry function, contact information, and direct job application.   Sama will continuously strive towards offering valuable information for our visitors.

Sama Aluminium 50th Anniversary Celebration

In celebration of its 50th Anniversary on June, 25, 2019, Sama Aluminium held a ceremony inviting our domestic and foreign partners, along with current and former employees. (July, 19, 2019)   On the day of the event held at the Poseung factory in Pyeongtaek, The Heritage Zone was revealed commemorating our 50 year history of challenges.   During the ceremony we expressed our gratitude to those who have been with us all these years and announced our new vision and mission as we pledged a new beginning and leap forward towards the next 50 years.   At this event, CEO Ha Sang-yong proudly announced our new company vision and mission as he emphasized our innovative corporate image of enterprising global industry leadership.   In addition, Chairman Hahn Nam-hee pledged “By striving towards the world’s best weight reduction technology and therefore safely preserving our customers’ needs with mobile ease, we will contribute to creating a more sustainable world”

In celebration of Sama Aluminium’s 50th Anniversary, “Sam-A Heritage” is opened

In 2019, marking the 50th anniversary of our foundation, Sama Aluminium opened “Sam-A Heritage”, a memorial hall containing our rich history and improvement of our technology.   Revealed in conjunction with the anniversary festivities, a diverse variety of content was included such as a commemorative speech by Honorary Chairman Hahn Sang-gu, Sama logo artwork, the “History Zone” which shows the path we have treaded, as well as the noble materials and display zone proudly displaying all of our main products at a glance.   From the “Story wall” and “Heritage Way” displaying our brilliant legacy and history, to the “Vision Wall” communicating our vision for the future, visitors can witness Sama Aluminium’s past, present and future spanning a century.
