Sama Aluminium Announces Capital Increase and Convertible Bond Issuance through Third-Party Allotment
Date: December 22, 2022
On December 22, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., the Board of Directors of Sama Aluminium resolved to proceed with a capital increase and the issuance of convertible bonds through a third-party allotment.
The decision was made in response to the anticipated rise in demand for aluminium foil used as cathode current collectors in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), driven by the global growth of the electric vehicle market. The capital raised will be used to fund related facility investments and to establish strategic partnerships.
The third-party allotment will involve both strategic investors (SI) and financial investors (FI). Strategic investors include LG Energy Solution Ltd. (LGES) and Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC), while the financial investor is JKL ESG Future Mobility Value Chain Private Equity Fund (hereinafter referred to as JKL Partners).
